Lots of WIPs...

So one of my goals this year is to wrap up all the WIPs I have laying around my craft room. I have about 8 different WIPs at the moment, but one I am ready to get done and cross off my WIP list is the Henna Garden Summer Sampler Series quilt! I LOVE the gorgeous colors of Henna Garden- so pretty, fresh and just all around a beautiful print. I have been eyeing Sandi Henderson's blog for the reprint with new colors!

I also really enjoyed branching out a bit with paper piecing, and trying a bit more intricate blocks with this series. I had two more blocks to go, and this evening completed block number 11- Rocky Road to Kansas! Isn't it pretty? I must personally say that I think this is one of the prettiest blocks I've ever made! Imagine a whole quilt with this block, all in Henna Garden! Gorgeous! Putting that on a future to-do list fo sho!

It's gonna be such a pretty quilt!

I also got these pretty goodies in the mail today! Can't wait to start something "new", but I will resist the great temptation, and make all the blocks lying around into quilt tops, and all the quilt tops hung in the closet into actual quilts!

I also finished these fantastical bee blocks for the Scrappy Herringbone Bee- aren't they so pretty? I love the colors- so vintage-y-ish chic! Almost romantic (to me anyway) :o)

Pretty much all caught up on bee blocks this month- woo hoo! So now I am off to get some more WIPS done! Here is what I have to look forward to!

Blog titles are so weird to me...

Well, I am almost done with this sweet calculator embroidery piece that is going to be the raddest pillow on my living room sofa! Pattern can be found here.

Please tell me I am not the only one who did this with their calculator in math class?!?

I would have finished it up this evening but was super distracted with these super fun and totally cute airplane blocks- adorable!

I'm going to do a Quilting Bee and do these blocks- they are pretty quick to whip up! And look how cute they are!

I hope you had a fantastical Christmas! Mine was perfect!
Karaoke Christmas Extravaganza one day, Christmas Eve dinner another day, and pajama relaxation the next- wonderful in every way!

I got a lot of goodies that I was expecting! :o)

I'm so excited that today is the last day of 2011- we have great plans for tonight, can't wait to get all dolled up and ring in the New Year with my dear love!

Sewing this year was a blast- my original quilt goal for 2011 was 6 completed quilts. Finished big with a whopping 14! Woot Whoot! Majority went to children in need, which felt really good donating to kiddos! Melt my heart.

I also loooooved the flickr swaps this year- Spicing up the Kitchen, Pillow Talk, Savvy Seasons, Pretty Little Pouch- they are all so fun, and so many talented people! I love the goodies I received!

The one pattern that I super loved this year was the Greta Doll pattern by Retromama, as well as the Best Bib Pattern!

This new year I plan to:
Finish all my WIPs
Make (and finish) a Lady of the Lake quilt
Finish hand quilting the Cherry Quilt
Finish 20 quilts
Clean out my fabric stash
And color my measuring tape/scissor tattoo (and add a spool to it) :o)

Talk About Last Minute!

Here it is- quilt #12 for the year! I did it! :o)

I had planned this two weeks ago - I even had all the pieces cut, batting and backing purchased. Well, work got busy, I got home late a lot, I was tired, etc... so Friday evening I had a cup o' joe in the afternoon (to keep me up) and worked my tail off until 1130pm to get this baby pieced, bound and quilted.

At the crack of dawn Saturday morning, I added the binding and finished it by hand, tossed it in the washer and dryer, and while that was being done, whipped out a matching little doll!

Present completed- With 30 minutes til the party!

I work well under pressure! I think I prefer it...

Thank you so much for voting for my "Love " quilt... I think it's safe to say that I won (WOO HOO), but will wait for the official blog post. THANKS TONS & TONS!! I super {{heart}} Marmalade Fabrics, and can't wait to do some shopping!

The last two weeks have been pretty darn busy for me... I mean mega busy! Work has been non stop, I am tired all the time, soccer practice, dinner, wife, mommy, yadda yadda. I have been dying to get behind my sewing machine and today was the day! A Saturday with nothing on the agenda, no where to go, no one to see, no party to attend,dinners to eat- nada! So, here is what I whipped up:

A sweet Sherbet Pips stocking for the Purple Panda Stocking Drive! It was soooooooo easy! And what a great cause. I have a special place in my heart for children in need. So head on over to PurplePanda to read up on what you can do to participate. It takes seriously 15 minutes to make a stocking, and imagine the joy on that child's face who gets it- priceless!

I've also had some time to cutout my HST pieces for a pinwheel quilt I want to have completed in 2 weeks. I have a sweet little girl's birthday party to attend, and she is overdue for new quilt from me. I love the scrappy look... wish I had gone with various colors of neutrals for the solid, but it works. Plus all pieces are cut anyway... she's gonna be 4, so she won't mind!

Well, I started this post last night and wrapping up this morning, so off to church I go. Have a great rest of the weekend!

Okay- it has been awhile... a long while, but I feel I am ready to get into the swing of blogging again!
I mean, summer just takes everything outta ya, yes?

So, here is some new fresh crafty goodness! I just finished this lil Pooches and Pickups quilt for a baby shower thingy at my job. The best "handmade" item wins a prize. I have no idea what the prize is, but determined to win it! :o) Its for an organization that needs baby items, etc and hosts baby showers for those in need. So I am making coordinating burp clothes and bibs to accompany this quilt!

I've been in the giving mood as of late- it feels so wonderful to help people! The 100 Quilts for Kids is so mega inspiring! I am so happy to be a part of it!

I am gonna put something together soon and hope many can join to be a part of it! More info on that soon.

I haven't blogged in Fo-Eva! Oh my- I'm gonna make a personal goal to blog at least once a week! I'm gonna super try!!

I've been on a quilting bug as of late. Sewing up a storm if you will... I made a personal goal to make at least 6 quilts in 2011, aaaaannnnddd, guess what?? Yup- I reached my goal!! WOO HOO!! So stoked! Here they are:

I did it!! 7 of them! YAY!! I exceeded my goal... and still goin' strong! I just can't stop... I started this kaleidoscope one today, and I LOOOVE IT! I went for the baby size cause I didn't know what I was getting myself into. I actually have had this pattern for awhile now, but felt intimidated... there is soooooo no reason to at all, its super super easy! I HAVE TO make the throw sized on too! Maybe I will finally make myself a quilt one day???

I've been playing around with my Munki Munki Roller Skate Blocks... since they are all different sizes, I wanted to have them look like they are "floating" in Kona Snow... no particular placement or order... know what I mean? Is there a quilting term for that?? I ran out of Kona Snow, so these go into the back burner pile until I order some more...

That's all I got for now... Just gonna droooooool over the new releases coming soon from the awesome Market photos on flickr!! Argh- so much good stuff! I need all of it! 1934, American Jane Fairytales, 1001 Peeps, Sew Cherry, LITTLE APPLES- AAAHHH, that is my fave so far! Oh oh, what about AMH Loulouthi? Oh, and Ruby, and, second to Little Apples, Outfoxed, by Lizzy House- LOOOOVE! Oh and Heather Rosses FFA3?? Though I must say I am horribly disappointed with this one and refuse to purchase any of it! Okay, well, maybe some, but still disappointed!

I love this quilt and how the top came out! This one if for my other little niece for her birthday in a few weeks... I hope her mom likes it...

Getting ready to baste it up and quilted. Not too sure what to do... I was thinking a large stipple around the circles and some circular swirls inside each circle?? Thoughts?

I jacked up the yellow piece on the back, since I am way too good at math, so excuse the randomly cut pieces- so lame, but I figure after the wash it will crinkle nicely and not be noticeable? (I sure hope) :o)

And, I'm making some progress on my Single Girl quilt... lots of cutting and cutting... and more cutting! Aloooooost there... getting kinda discourage by seeing some others who are already piecing their arches... some puckering and movement even with pins. I hope I can do it!

I did wrap up my partner's pincushion for the scrappy pin cushion swap... I hope she likes it!

Well, back to basting... have a good one!

Another Finished Quilt

I love this quilt... I love everything about it. I used muslin and American Jane Punctuation. When it came out of the dryer, it was so so so soft! I love the raw edge binding too... so different (to me anyway).

I need to make the label and get this to my super sweet niece, who will be starting school this coming Fall. She is very exciting, and practicing her name over and over.

And, I started another quilt. It's A Hoot line by MoMo for Moda Fabrics. This seemed like a great design in the magazine, but I'm just not pleased with it. I may put it off and start something new, but it just doesn't "speak to me" if you will. It's so small, and the colors just seem like a chaotic mess! We'll see what becomes of this....

Anyway, I need to get started on the Spicing Up the Kitchen swap for my partner, as well as cut out ALL the templates and fabric for the Single Girl Quilt Along, as well as the fabric. I want to get a head start!! :o)

So glad this one is finished! I'm a quarter of the way done with quilt number 2! This year, my goal is to use up all the fabrics I have... I buy, buy and buy, and it all just sits in my craft room. Such gorgeous and pretty farbics... I'm using them this year, and set a 6 quilt goal! YIPPEE!

It's been great- a whole day of fun on Friday with my pal Brittany- we had SO much fun, but totally forgot our cameras. We visited so many places, met so many people and had so much fun. It was a wonderful adventure for sure!

I rested Allllllllllllllllllllll daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay looooooooooooooong on Saturday- recoup! It was perfect, cause I got to lay in bed in my warm pajamas, eat in bed and listened to the rain hit the window... then when you have a hubby and a lil pumpkin squeeze themselves into bed with you- who could ask for anything more?!

And today- the weekend finale- more rain, more PJs and lots and lots and lots of sewing. I am working on a Dresden for no reason whatsoever... typically I start a project with an intention of making it for someone... this time, I just felt like making a Dresden, I was ready to "step my game up" if you will, cause they scared the poo outta me... I've realized that I just totally wimped out, there is nothing to be afraid of all!! It's actually soooo super easy!

I also made this lil cinnaminny roll- saw Heidi Kenny's on flickr, and gave it a whirl... pretty cute... my pins like him a lot! :o)

I'm also working on a stacked quilt with some MeadowSweet. I thought it would be a pretty Fall quilt... but its not moving as fast as the season is, so maybe Winter we can use it.....

And because it was a cold rainy weekend, I busted out a new rice holder heater thingy! I'm so stoked at how this came out! I used some random scraps, and then put the rice bags in the back, heat it up and ta-daaaa! I pretty much love it forever! I've had an old grocery store bought one For-Ev-Errr... so I totally needed a new one (what are these things really called anyway)?

Well I'm off to bed, gotta get up early for work, just for a few days til THANKSGIVING!!- Yay, I {{heart}} Thanksgiving so much- hope you have a good one!

Nothin' fancy, just some baby quilts... I saw this and this and just had to put them together somehow... I love hand quilting! Especially with embroidery floss... it gives the quilt such a fantastical look- a "sweet & extra special" look, huh?

I'm also putting together a baby quilt for a co-worker.. I started yesterday morning, and this was as far as I got... I know I could have at least got it sandwiched and pinned, but Huzban wanted to cuddle and watch a movie- how could I say no?? :o)

We watched Shutter Island with one of my boyfriends, Leonardo DiCaprio... he's so handsome! Catch Me if You Can is my absolute favorite!

Some sewing and a new tattoo!

Heeeeeeey blogland-

How ya been? I've been busy busy busy... as soon as May started it was one thing after another and that looks like the agenda for the rest of the summer, holidays, birthdays, traveling, work, summer break, etc... non stop! In a weird way, I can't wait until Fall!

Well over the Memorial Day weekend I turned 29! My last year in my twenties... I had a great time wine tasting, getting some new ink and being super spoiled by my family and Huzban! He's the best!

I got a measuring tape, scissors and a few buttons tattooed on what I want to be a half sleeve. I have to go back in a week to get it all colored in. Took about an hour, and yes, it hurt. I came in with an idea of a pincushion tomato, measuring tape, spool, buttons, safety pins, and a needle with thread... the artist drew up this awesome design but when he put it in my arm I wimped out SO BAD! I got so scared with all that on my arm!! So, we narrowed it down a bit... I'll be back another time to get the rest of the half sleeve done, but for now... I like it a lot!

I haven't touch any scrapping supplies in about a month- nada, nothing, and I have no desire too either.... I think I'm gonna de-stash all my stuff on etsy, I have so much stuff that just accumulated, between that and sewing stuff, my rooms is a hot disaster!

I have had the need to sew, sew, sew... I can't stop dreaming of beautiful fabrics, and tons of things I want to make... today I had a great day to sit and just sew... I had my music going, and was in an Alice In Wonderland zone... I made a cute pouch for my sewing supplies and a few wonky log cabin blocks for my Alice Quilt... I love all the fabrics together- so fun and whimsical!

Okay- till next time. I have to get to bed...

The Mini Mermaid

Made this for a co-worker's new baby girl. I hand quilted it with embroidery floss. I've never used embroidery floss to quilt before, but I love the way it looks. I think I prefer it than thread.

I'm also done hand quilting the large Mermaid quilt, just working on the binding and I'll get photos up soon.

I have lots of new fabrics in my craft room and many new pattern ideas floating in my head for them. Hand quilting is my new kick... I love it, and have already started hand quilting my little one's Cherry Quilt...I broke the twin size quilt top out of the closet and decided to just finish it. I wanted to take it to a long arm quilter for fear of ruining it by trying to machine quilt it. I'm using embroidery floss for this one too. It's going to take forever, but she's been waiting for it for 3 years already, so whats a little bit longer, right?

Holy Moly, lost blog!

Time sure flies don't it!?! I don't even have a particular excuse, just been busy with Spring break, work, life, etc!!

I have like 1 LO that I did... and lots of sewing, but haven't loaded those photos yet.

Happy Friday to you!

I'm still so very sick, feeling better, but still sick, since like last weekend! Yuk!

I'm excited though, cause Spring Break is here! I am off all of next week and get to hang out with my lil pumpkin. We have a ton of stuff on our agenda! I can't wait!

Speaking of can't wait, 2 more weeks until I get to see Paul Oakenfold!! WOOT WOOT! My girlfriends Ashley, Brittany and I are gonna dance the night away at his concert coming up! SO SO excited!

AND- My super sweet Huzban surprised me yesterday with Kings of Leon tickets- OHHH YEEYA! Wasn't that the sweetest? I can't wait, that is this summer, so so excited to go and even more excited to have a wonderful Hubby!

Here is a perfect mix of both Oakenfold AND Kings Of Leon- gotta love it! i {{heart}} me some techno/dance!!

Hows your week so far?!? Mine is so-so... really stressed right now with work... late nights, overloaded, etc. Hoping it gets better soon.

In other news, my Huzban is the bestest in the whole wide world. He really brought his A-game for valentines day this past weekend!! I got a ton of goodies, lots of love and super sweetness! He is the best! I got some new clothes, new shoes, new mac make up, new laptop, a spa massage, and the greatest dinner cooked by Huzban and my lil sweet girl- it was the day that I didn't want to end! THANKS LOVE!!! **muah**

Here is my LO "fabric love"... I totally whipped out a quilt this past weekend in 3 hours! Okay, it was a baby quilt, but I did the whole thing, binding and all in 3 hours! I love fabric and SO want to quilt like I used to! I used to quilt all the time, one after another! I have a SUPER AWESOME idea for an Alice in Wonderland quilt- eeeeeek! Feelin' good today I might say! Maybe it's because of three things:

1. The newest prompt is up at Scrap That Poetry. Here is the LO I created inspired by the poem, Ah Yes! Love. One of my notebooks from my shop is being featured as the RAK Giveaway!I do have to say that I am pretty stoked at how this LO came out... You know the feeling, don't fake it... when you feel you did a damn good job on this one! LOL! I love it, I love the paint, the funkiness and chaos of it. I'm super digging sideways titles right now too!

2. My "Prefect Fit" LO swiped up a win at Scrap Mojo- super cool huh!?! I'm so excited!!

3. A sweet lil notebook I made is being used as this months giveaway at XOXO Girls- how awesome! Check out the latest prompt here and be sure to play along!

I'm feeling refreshed, excited and super inspired! I have a nice box of NEW Prima and Hambly that should be at my door step today... can't wait to play with my new goodies!

Hiya folks!

I got some new paper and scrapping goodies this weekend, and I'm SO excited to play with them this week! I didn't get a chance this weekend cause it was a super busy one! I did some mega shopping!! LOTS of new stuff for our new place! I'll take some photos and post them tomorrow!!

Hola!

Guess what today is!?! Walk Through Day! Yup! We get to do the walk through of our brand spankin new home!!! SO SO SO excited!

We're closing escrow on the 29th and movin in the 30th! WOO HOO!! This is our very first home, with fresh white walls, new carpet, wood floors, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances... I so can't wait to walk in it and just smell that "new" smell!!

We are buying everything brand new! We literally only have our mattresses and clothes right now, so its a nice clean slate! New sofas, bedroom sets, dining set, everything! EEEKKK, so so happy!!

Here is some rad art I've been eying on etsy... can't wait to cover my walls with paint and pretty artwork!

How are you?

I'm well.

Just wanted to say hello....

I've been busy, and lazy, and busy and lazy...

Packing up the apartment as we are ready to head on out in 2 weeks! Our new home is to be ready by 12/15, so we are crossing our fingers! We are really really stoked!

Other than that, not a lot of crafty news... some sewing I started yesterday for a friend, and some NINJA layouts of course... check em out here for our sweet weekly prompts.

sooooo... i did a few crafty LOs last week. One for Category Stories "There is such a thing..." I made a sweet LO of Huzban... he's the bestest ever! I really like how this LO turned out, you know when you create something that kind blows your socks off? Yeah, that is this LO for me!

Did some misting and used up some Prima I won awhile back...

I also have my DT Pink Ninja LO- check out the blog and play along! We have a rad new bigger and better DT- the latest prompt is "Skin Mark"... what's your? Mine is "Getting Tattoo #5" my bestest and most favoritest tattoo yet! (until # 6, LOL)!

Annnnnd... I have some cool new goodies that I am working on, something awesome, crafty and super cool. You'll be able to get one too... tee hee hee... top secret for now... but I will share soon!

Oh- Halloween... okay, not super into Halloween and all, but I need a rad costume... I'm talking super cute! But all the ones at the stores are totally hoe bag costumes... why can't I be Dorothy or Little Red Riding Hood without having half my ass hang out the back of the dress, thigh high socks with mega heels? I haven't been in the mood lately, you know, the blogging mood... just plain didn't feel like it. So sorry to neglect my sweet 'ol blog, and for not visiting your blogs and showing you some love!

Moving on, here I am, take me or leave me! :o)

First things first, today is NINJA DAY! You know the drill, check out The Pink Ninja blog and get the latest dose of prompt inspo! The ninja masters have a whole new system going on, and they are featuring a ninja of the month- check it out! Michelle came up with the prompt this week, "what kind of cartoon character would you be?" I picked Judy Jetson- I LOVED the Jetson's as a kid and always wanted to be part of their family! Judy Jetson rocked my world- she was the cool one, the hip one, and not to mention had all those rad futuristic gadgets! So, here is my LO, "Being Judy Jetson"!

Check the ninja blog to see every one's AWESOME layouts!! So fun, and so 80s- LOVE IT!

I also have had a sewing bug- more like a quilting bug, and cannot wait to get this bad boy completed! Nely, Ally and I are making snowball quilts. I love the colors I have here... kinda random but they look go together (they do right? Be honest)!

And moving back to scrapping- I started this mixed randomness mini album for my Huzban called "Just Us". Its gonna be full of some really old photos of us on our teen years! I love him so so much, I love how we're still in love today like we were years ago. He makes my heart sing!

With all my excitement on becoming a Pink Ninja again, I totally forgot to share the latest prompt- "Drink of Choice"... so, what's your fave drink? Hot Cocoa, Beer, Wine, Soda? Let us know and play along!

Here is mine... "Coffee"- I can't go a day without it! And if I don't have it at the same time everyday, I start to get a headache- caffeine addicted for sure! mmmmmm..... warm, creamy, frothy coffee.... I especially love my stitching on this LO, and my "coffee rings" too! They are totally fake- it's just paint! LOL!! :o)

Hiya!

Guess what?? I did 5 layouts this weekend! That's a lot for me- and I did some hand quilting on the yet to be completed Mermaid Quilt (almost there). I was on a challenge blog marathons!

I also finally decided what fabrics to use for my snowball quilt! I really REALLY really REALLY can't wait to get started! It was really tempting not to start cutting and sewing as this pretty lil stack of fabric stared at me while I scrapped! (Two more weeks ladies!!)

And, I managed to squeeze a movie in with my little one and her BFF, Emily. We saw Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs- the cutest movie! I loved it, and in 3D, who couldn't! Little miss Emily stays the night almost every weekend. Friday after work, she is knocking at our door ready to sleep over. The two of them LOVE to watch me scrap or sew and always want to use any extra paper and punches to create their own layouts! My little Julia made this supa sweet LO for Huzban and I...So stinking CUTE! My fave is the random Christmas Stamp! LOL! She said she used a heart cause "daddy and you are in love" Awwwwww!!

And her sweet BFF, Emily, made this wonderful note for me! ADORABLE!!!!
Almost brought tears to these eyes!

Hi there!

How ya been? I'm well, thanks! Actually, kinda excited! I reached 50 followers- WOO HOO! Thanks so much for following me and reading my blog- that is super sweet, thanks so much!!!

Well, today is NINJA DAY! And the newest prompt is up, Collections. I don't collect much other than fabric, scrapping supplies and Alice in Wonderland stuff... but I opted for memories. I LOVE to take photos of my mini fam to preserve the great things we do and the joy we share- SO, here is my LO "Collecting Memories". Ya like? I do, I love the randomness of it... and the background paper... just some green card stock, pink diluted paint and some glimmer mist... came out kinda cool I think.

I also played along at Category Stories, as the prompt was too much fun and the prize is something I want for sure!! Saturday Morning Cartoons- how fun, right!?! My FAVORITE (still is) is the Jetsons! Remember the Jetsons?!? I LOVED the maid, I wanted one SO bad so I didn't have to clean my room and pick up my toys!! LOL!!

That's me lately... I just don't have a desire to do much, even though I have to do lots!
This represents my entire weekend last week. Deadline after deadline, and I'm still late!

A half ass layout for my ninja crew- sorry to disappoint!

A quilt literally made in a day, even though I had an entire month to get this completed. My MIL needed it for a new baby in New York. I had it in her hand the day before she flew out, and was still putting the binding on! Total slacker, huh?

And ATCs galore! I think I need an ATC break.... Just one more swap to go... and this one, I want to really give my all. Crossing my fingers I can do this ON TIME!

Ever realize that when you have to force yourself, your work totally blows?!? I'm so embarrassed! Though I'm feeling my "Sweet" ATCs fo sho! They are too cute! :o)

Its been on my mind a lot... just relaxing cutting the fabric into pieces, sewing them together to make a pretty pattern... sitting on the sofa just sipping tea and stitching away. Ahhhhh... it's like a whole different world.

Good Morning!

Thanks for sharing the excitement of a new home with me! We are mega stoked! The home will be ready in Dec/Jan (depending on how the rainy season goes). Isn't it cool... just a dirt lot with a trench and in a few months- ta-da, a new home for us! WOO HOO!! :o)

Moving on... I managed to whip out this LO last night after I got all chapped that my vintage ATCs are not working out so well- ARGH! It'll come to me I'm sure...

I used some paint, fabric, felt, bubble wrap, and lots of other shenanigans (love that word).

Hola! Como Estan?

Just a quickie for ya since it's been awhile... I have a lot of great and awesome things that I am working on, but can't share 'em yet... They pretty much rock though... Here are two fabulous things that I can share:

1) The Pink Ninjas (are you a ninja yet)? If not, get with the program my friend... all the cool kids do it! This weeks prompt was Star Wars or Star Trek!?! There are lots of Star Wars fans at the ninja blog, check out all the awesomeness from our Design Team!

2) My first take on a sketch challenge ever! Honest, I'm not a big sketch fan, it's too cut&paste for me, but this little diddy was just calling my name! THANKS DIANA (see what a little harassing can do!?) LOL! :o) I call this, Super Silly and I like my quarter flower, totally random!

Well, maybe three things... how awesome is this mini album!?!? I can't wait to take this class... even if it is an hour away (road trip anyone?!) It's just so freakin' cute! It has the new Sassafras Me Likey- isn't it adorable?!? All of the pics are Jennifer's, taken from her blog.

That's all folks... I am working on my ATC swaps (fun & addicting), hand quilting my mermaid quilt (thanks for all the quilt LoVE, supa sweet), and waking my Huzban up off the couch so he can get to bed, playing with my new Vintage Plum kit (ohhhh... love it), and then I gotta hit the hay.

Oh- Huzban and I are out on a mission again on Saturday, house hunting! Please, wish us luck!! This is SO stressful, and if our offer/bid is rejected one more time, I'm gonna lose my mind! You don't want to know how many offers and homes we've seen- (we've seen SOOOOO many)- okie dokie, thanks!

Here is my super sweet Mermaid quilt that I started making for my little mermaid lover... I used my stash of Heather Ross Mendocino fabrics- aren't they lovely? Heather Ross is AWESOME!! I adore all of her fabric designs!! Thank you Becky for the inspo!!

Life takes over...

Life takes over, doesn't it!?! Whew, we've had SO many birthdays, parties, BBQs, yadda yadda... I'm glad things are slowly mellowing out on my end... This past weekend was the 1st weekend where we didn't have to be anywhere, see anyone, etc (I LOVED IT)!

So here is a snapshot of my life the past two weeks... My lil pumpkin turned 5, yup 5! Crazy, huh?! She's gonna start school next month- my baby!!! We'll I think we spoiled her this year... she got a trip to Disneyland with her best friend Emliy, went to her first concert, and had a birthday party with her friends and family- that's spoiled!

How rad is her friend Emily's face on the ride!?! LOVE IT, she looks either terrified or pissed! LOL!!

Here is a little American Idol Concert action... got to see the top 10 and it was AWESOME!!! My pudgy wudgy LOVED it... a tad overwhelmed when we first got there, but soon after she was outta her seat singing and shouting and dancing! It's so great to see her so stoked!

Oh Oh, I finished this super sweet mini for one of our family friends. This is her cutie pie grand daughter, Brianna. You can see the rest here. Isn't it cute? So precious, I hope she likes it as much as I do.

Plethora of Stuff

Oh my have I been SO busy!! It just doesn't stop! I'm very much looking forward to this holiday weekend for some much needed rest!

Here is a recap on my sweet weekend last week. It was non-stop but SO awesome!

Friday: Dad's birthday, so we all went out to dinner and hung out with the family. Yeah, that's my mom showing her food... non serious pics run in the family!

Saturday: A lovely Princess Tea Party hosted by Ms Princess herself. It was FABULOUS! I took my little girl and her BFF, Emily. Those two LOVED it and had such a wonderful time (as did I)!

And we had to get some pics with the Princess, of course!

Then on Sunday I took the best class ever! I have never learned so many new techniques and cool tricks before! This was the GREATEST class... there are endless possibilities to this awesome hobby and Liz Hicks has shown me SO many awesome techniques, ideas, and tons of other stuff! I loved it! She was so RAD and so FUN! Here is her sample of the mini we made. It ROCKED!

And in other great news, the new prompt is up at The Pink Ninja Blog!!! We need some players, so please play along! We have an amazingly talented team that is FULL of inspiration for ya! Get your supplies out and whip up a LO of your Guilty Pleasures!!! Mine are, embarrassingly, Junior Mints. Lame, huh? Who eats those, grandpas? I love em and can't get enough!!! Here is my take on the prompt. Kept is kinda simple, used some fabric and did some machine stitching.

Hiya! What's the happening on this FAB Thursday?! (one more day, one more day)!

Didn't get a chance to post over the weekend like I wanted to. We have family in town from Oregon, so things have been busy!! I mean Crazy busy!! I normally hit the hay at 9pm, 10pm tops, but have been so busy that I've been up til 12am that past two days!! SO sleep deprived!

Anyhow, here is what I've been up to:

Some sewing for our new niece Siena... I made some bibs for her and a quilt. I HATE this quilt so much! Do you ever start something and think that it sucks so bad, but you'll be mega mad at yourself for spending the money on all the stuff (fabric, batting, thread, etc) that you just force yourself to finish it? Well, I do! And here is the disaster that became of it. Not lookin' for pity here, so don't go fooling me with sweet comments, this thing is UGLY!

but the bibs are cute, huh? I love the bell pepper and onion one! Babies- their so adorable!

And then... Ive been whipping up so goodies with the July kit from Vintage Plum!! This kit is too darn awesome! The colors are fab and the paper is so yummy!! Here are a few sneaky peeks for ya... full reveal on 7/1/09!

Oh yeah, have you ever had that one picture of you that is horrendous?! The one that your face is TOTALLY jacked up?!? Well, here is your chance to scrap it! Yo Yo Yo! What's happening blogland? I've been pretty busy on my end. TONS of work to do, lots of family outings, and mega scrapping too!

First, you HAVE to see these two movies!!! I saw then over the weekend and they ROCK!!

"Hangover" is HILARIOUS!!! And "Up" straight up made me cry like 3 times!! It was so good, and in 3D too!

Like 10 minutes ago, I totally REAMED my finger SO BAD with the crop-o-dile and it is so swollen that I cannot even type! What a nerd I am... I'm gonna just leave ya with some photos of some crafty projects I did over the past week. Hope ya like!

Some Stuff!

I've been feeling a bit under the weather lately... don't know what it is... just feeling icky, stomach aches, headaches, chills, etc... It did give me lots of time to scrap, and that I did! Sorry I don't have pics of all of it... I'm not in the mood right now... I'll post them later this week...

I just received my 1st Vintage Plum kit and it pretty much ROCKS! I love the custom Vintage Plum papers it came with, and the random vintage goodies too... Not too sure what I want to do with it yet... we'll see! check out the goods here!

I also created this rad LO for the Fussy Cut Challenge... I cut almost everything, those cute little bunnies kicked my butt! They are SO small!!

I also received my 1st Studio Calico kit too... I'm making a cute mini for my baby girl... a count down of all her favorite things... Here is what I have so far... Gonna touch up the cover, it's missing something, huh?

It gonna have a ton of pages with randomness about my sweetie pie. What is your favorite food? What do you want to be when you grow up, etc. cool, huh?

Hiya!

I'm SO glad it's Friday! WOO HOO- I don't have major plans, I'm actually gonna relax at home with my pumpkin while Huzban heads out for poker night with the guys... Not too sure what we'll do (since our TV broke), maybe head out for some bowling?! We'll see...

Anywho- I managed this LO last night- it was such a HOT night!! Like, gross hot! I couldn't sleep, my little one couldn't sleep... summer is a comin'! Bathing suites and beer! OH YEYA! LOL
Here is my take on the Category Stories Challenge- "Unexpected". I was mega stoked that Paul Oakenfold said he'd take a photo with me at his concert- totally unexpected and super memorable!

NSD was alright... I didn't do much crafting over here... just chilled basically! I managed to finish my Go Green Album that Jennifer taught last week... I LOVE it, and so did my sis. I filled this mini with some cutesie photos of my little niece, Shelby Shelby (we always say her name twice- try it). Here are a few photos... you can see the rest here.

I did have a GREAT weekend though. It started on Friday with Nely and her peeps... we went out and kinda whooped it up. Here are some hot and sweaty, just finished closing up the club pics! LOL!!

And then Saturday arrived... I took Ebony & Ivory (my daughter and niece) to the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla. We had a nice lunch, saw some fish, sharks, jelly fish and then bumped some Bob Marley on the way home with the windows down... The breeze was so nice, the girls past out in the back and I desperately wanted to be back there with them... ah, it was perfect!

I've been TAGGED, by this pretty girl! I've never been tagged!!! YAY- So, without further ado... here is some randomness about ME!

Got these bad boys in the mail from this shop- WOO HOO! I've been pondering pattern I want to use to quilt with them... aren't they simply lovely?

Tuesday:

Participated in the Creative Cafe for Vintage Plum. It was really cool... we altered vintage book covers... I made this one as a start to a mini for my sister in law... she just had a little girl two months ago. Can't wait to finish it {That was fun ladies}!!

Thy Challenge Blogs, Oh How I Love Thee

Challenges rock- really, they do! They take you out of your comfort zone and let you explore a little (or a lot)... I whipped out these bad boys tonight: One for the Glorious Pink Challenge at Pink Pineapple, and the other for The Creative Type- love that blog!

Here is the Creative Type: check the deets here... I opted not to write on my photo, just to be rebellious! ;o)

It reads (around the blue border): some believe a picture says a thousand words...looking into your eyes, your beautiful smile and strong hands... this picture tells me on thing- love

AND, what super powers would I have if I got to chose ANYTHING!?!? Going back in time! ENDLESS possibilities... change things that have happen, relive a super exciting event (like the concert I went to this past Friday, can't get that out of my mind, it was SO SO awesome to meet THE Paul Oakenfold. Totally rambling... okay, so yeah, going back in time... I LOVE learning and reading about the foggies from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s... the jazz, the clothes, the cigarette holders (what a rad trend?!?), their simple yet not so simple lives... SO, {finally getting to the point, hang with me here} My powers would take me to the 1920s... flapper loving times! How fantabulous would that be? If I could just have one day in the smokey jazz club, in my ultra sexy flapper dress... my make up done up, my drink in one hand, my super rad cigarette holder in the other- GOOD TIMES!

And, since I feel like I've lost ya already... here is the LO:

I super like my rosette... I inked the edges then dabbed some black velvet flock around it... looks cool huh? And the music sheet totally says 1926.. I thought that was a sweet detail, but that's just me.

Well, it's 12 o 'clock in the AM (Lady's Man) and Huzban is calling for me to come to bed... After work tomorrow I'll be having dinner with this little lady and then we are off to take this class at the greatest scrapbook store ever, Pink Pineapple Scrapbooks. I have a Pink Pineapple 3 day extravaganza coming (Thurs, Fri and Sat) crops and classes, gotta love it! WOO HOOO!

Hey hey hey! How's it hanging?! I'm HOT! Geez... it's been like a billion degrees since Friday (more like 90s) and I'm so over it! It gives me a mean headache!

Anyways, I played along over at Category Stories for their new challenge: Movies! Check the details here... this is what I came up with.

My BFF and I can quote these movies like no other! These are the best "stupid funny" movies around- and there is a quote in each of them that can be used in all situations!

Do you ever quote a movie in a particular situation, and it's a totally perfect set up, but the other person has NO clue what you are talking about?!? LAME... makes me feel like a nerd...

Well, here is my take on the challenge:

I had SO much fun at the Paul Oakenfold concert yesterday... I promise, Paul loves me too... the smiles, checking me out while dancing, the "what's up" nods- I PROMISE!

I danced the night away... so much so, that my body literally aches today! Like I have an ice pack on my leg right now! But SO, SO, SO, SO fun...

Anyway... here are some shots of him doing his thing- and of course, as soon as the show was over I booked over to the side of the stage and kindly asked for a photo- he said YES (cause he loves me too)!!

Had a blast last night with Ally, Nely and FINALLY met the great artist, Carrie!

You girls are AWESOME, I had SO much fun! I already can't wait for the next crop!!

In between laughing so hard that I cried (thanks Ally)! I managed to whip up this bad boy for the SATU Challenge: What's Your Secret?

My secret {kinda embarrassed here} is that I collect all things Alice In Wonderland- but it has to be Disney's Alice in Wonderland. Started collecting years ago and I have the raddest, most gnarly collection! LOVE Alice!!! Got this book that I can't wait to start reading. That is my plan for tomorrow... coffee and reading- perfect match! Fred Astaire rocks- I LOVE this kind of stuff. These movies are amazing, I especially like reading their biographies... Ava Gardner (lovely), Judy Garland- need I say more? Brain freeze: this challenge is kicking my butt.... what kind of powers do I want? Like really? You would think that'd be easy! I think I'm analyzing it way too much- whatevs...

Huzban (yes, that's how I spell it and that's what I call him) is watching Pineapple Express while I'm online, and it's sooooo funny! Have you seen it yet? Love Netflix, let me snuggle with him and finish this movie.

A little delay in posting weekend pics... here are some goodies from cropping at Pink Pineapple last Friday- Nely & Ally, you two are a blast- Crazy Girls!

I did manage to bust out this LO... I really like the title "I think she's sweet like sugar". It has to said in a little voice, as if the pretty bear were really saying it (Toooo haha Toooo haha)

AND, I finished my Easter mini this evening, I love how it turned out- so fun, and fresh! I've been on a chenille kick lately, and incorporated some yellow and lavender chenille fabrics. I really like how this turned out.

Now off to ponder what super powers I would have for Gloria's Monthly challenge. Maybe the power to be single and childless whenever they irritate me? NAH, I'd miss them too much!

My Easter extravaganza is starting out well... had a hiccup with my mini printer (that I LOVE) but all is working well now... here is a peek of the goods in progress... should be done with this bad boy over the weekend.

I love all the colors- so fresh, springy, birds, grass, flowers, butterflies, rabbits, ahhh... I can almost smell it... do you? A wonderful spring day!?! A super great excuse to buy a nice spring dress, with the matching shoes and purse, and new perfume too... you know, cause it's spring time!

Anyway, just wanted to show you the catastrophe I have... I'm gonna get my blanket, some tea and cookies and watch one of the greatest movies ever- Gilda! Rita Hayworth is simply divine, such pure beauty! I LOVE this movie... her famous dancing scene makes me cry every time. No, it's not a sad part, its such a great one! (I know, puss right?!)

Okay, totally rambling aren't I!?! Okay.... off to my movie... I leave you with the fabulous Rita Hayworth! She is SO gorgeous!

Hi there!

I have no idea why blogger has been doing this lately, but all my pics end up sideways?! It could be the operator, but I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong... anyway, sorry that all the pics are jacked up! If you click on each photo you can see it better...

Busted some Layouts this weekend... It's raining today (randomly) but it sure is relaxing to scrap with the windows open, cool breeze coming in and the sound of the rain... then bumping some rad 80s music too- that's how I roll!

These are my fabulous little nieces, Supergirl Saylah who is 2 and baby Shelby who will be 1 tomorrow!

I love the how the letters came out on the Super Saylah one... I painted them green and inked the edges with blue and black. And on Shelby's LO I used some yellow chenille fabric (LOVE Chenille) as the center of the flowers, topped with some paper.

I also have two layouts that I realized I hadn't shared yet!

That is all for now... I did score so super cool goodies when I went to Wal-mart today... I feel a FABULOUS Easter mini coming on!

I had such a great time at the Scrapbook Royalty Slumber Crop this weekend! Ally, you are so much fun to hang out with! Crazy girl!

The Ghetto Mist recipe:

Squirt bottle (40 cents at Wal-Mart)
Acrylic Paint- must be metallic
Some Old Eyeshadow

Put some paint, water and eye shadow dust in the bottle, give it a shake, and mist away!

I created a gray that was used in a mini that I made... pics of that this weekend...
